War on Terrorism vs. The Crusades

President George W. Bush had made a statement about comparing the war that the United States face with terrorism to the war that the Christians and Muslims faced 800 years ago called the Crusades. Well, we believe that Bush’s statement about the war on terrorism is completely wrong when comparing it to the Crusades. Bush’s statement is false because the war on terrorism has nothing to do with religious purposes. Eight hundred years ago, the Christians tried to take over Palestine because they believed that their religious leader Jesus Christ happened to be buried there. However, nobody in the U.S. wanted to take over Iraq or Afghanistan for any religious purposes. That is why we believe that Bush’s statement on the war on terrorism is false.
